isabelle seelbachMiddle School reading recommendations from Izzy Seelbach ’26

“The War that Saved My Life” by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley I really recommend this book. This book is sad but very meaningful at the same time. My favorite part in the book is the scenes with Susan and Ada together. I really want lots of people to read this book. But it is a very serious book. Read it to find out more.

“Ugly” written by Robert Hoge and illustrated by Keith Robinson I really liked the book unaltered because the boy was really brave. One of my favorite parts was in the back of the book though. In the back of the book, the author put pictures of himself (the book is about him) doing all the book explains. I also liked how they interviewed Robert Hoge in the back of the book. It really explains how the author feels. This book is sort of like “Wonder” so if you like the book “Wonder” you should read about this boy named Robert. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it to all of you!

“The Lions of Little Rock” by Kristin Levine I really enjoyed this book. I liked all the drama with this book. I also enjoyed the parts when she talked to red because he is a bad kid and it was exciting. It was a long book but it kept me intrigued the whole time. Please read this book you will not regret it.

“Rules” by Cynthia Lord I really enjoyed the book “Rules.” One of my favorites parts is ruleswhen she is with Ryan. Ryan is a mean kid and is really mean to other kids too. But I really like those scenes because she stands up for what she believes in. It is a really moving book because it is about two boys who are disabled. Read the book to find out what happens!

“You’re Welcome, Universe” by Whitney Gardner I really enjoyed this book. I thought the message was wonderful. One of my favorite parts of the story was when they showed all the spray painting pictures. The last one was my favorite by far. I really hope you read this book but there are also bad words in the book.

“Every soul a star,” a novel by Wendy Mass My favorite part of the book were the parts about Bree. Because she is not used to the outdoors. So she is a little snotty. I really enjoyed the book you should really read it.

amal unbound“Amal Unbound” by Aisha Saeed I really enjoyed “Amal UnBound.” I really liked Amal because she is such a fighter. She keeps going no matter what. My favorite part in the story is when she kept getting caught and in trouble. I know that might seem sort of mean but I liked all of the action. I really recommend this book.
