Hathaway Brown Theatre Institute (HBTI) is offering three days of classes over the winter break: Wednesday December 27, Thursday December 28 and Friday December 29. HBTI will be open from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with a variety of workshops that offers something for everyone!
Participants in the PRIME program (grades 1-4) can spend their fun filled days with song, dance, theatre crafts and games. PRIME is a full day program and is open to single or multiple day registration.
Older students in the Performing Arts Training (grades 5-college) will have a wide range of specialty classes from which to choose, some old favorites and some brand new. Classes are leveled by age and skill. Choices include classes in Acting for the Camera, Audition technique for Vocal, for Monologues and for Dance. Dan Hendrock and John Krol will teach some unique classes for Call Back Vocals, Cold Reading, “Belting” and Preparing for College Auditions. Dance with Bebe Weinberg Katz and Katie Zarecki will include Ballet and Tap. Ryan Zarecki will lead three different Stage Combat classes: basics, hand to hand and weapons. The Art of Storytelling will be taught by master storyteller Kyle Joza.
Guest instructors include Eric van Baars (Kent State – Musical Theatre faculty) teaching Preparation for College Audition and Broadway producers John and Danita Thomas (Little Women and Secret Garden) discussing auditions and expectations for professional theatre.
Registration for these programs is by the class. Students can sign up for single or multiple classes.
