Scenes from the Fourth Annual Young Writers and Artists Festival
Last night, the fourth annual Young Writers and Artists Festival at Hathaway Brown kicked off with an incredible show by poet Jamaal May and jazz trio SoNuvo. The event drew more than 200 people from inside and outside the HB community and concluded with an amazing performance by Delani Hughes ’17.
On Friday morning, the festival workshop sessions officially began after breakfast in the Reception Room. Limited to 15 Cleveland-area high school students in each session, professional writers and artists led focused workshops in the following creative categories: mindfulness, poetry, spoken-word poetry, creative nonfiction, flash fiction, playwriting, songwriting, comics, printmaking, painting, and photography.
